We purchased this 1939 Tudor house with the idea of tearing it down and starting over. When neighbors expressed strong objections to losing one of the subdivision’s original 50 Tudor houses, we agreed to pick the house up and move it on to one of the two lots it straddled, as well as adding a significant addition in the style and character of the original. A whimsical two story carriage house studio/apartment was added to the site at the rear, while rubble stone walls and flagstone steps further blend the site with the typical elements of the neighborhood in a subtly elegant manner.
