A popular style of house built in American between the world wars was the Tudor. We purchased this prominent corner lot, set high on a hill in a 1936 suburban Tudor neighborhood, with the idea of designing a “high” Tudor style house, complementary to and reinforcing the feel of the neighborhood. Because of citizen concern, we established a design committee to receive, review and respond to neighbor comments. The finished home’s exterior is stone, brick and authentic stucco inset into timber framed gables. The high pitched roofs, stone fireplace, timbered gables and clay chimney pot help to convey the true Tudor style.
